As part of this year’s ‘Annie Get Your Flowers’ Floral Art Competition, the National Flower Show will be hosting a LIVE contest inside Hylands House on Friday morning.

Six florists will go head-to-head in a thrilling floral design challenge. The twist? They won’t know what flowers or materials they’ll be working with until the competition begins!

Visitors can watch the magic happen live inside Hylands House as each designer creates a stunning floral masterpiece using this year’s Wild West Theme.

And the best part? YOU decide the winner. All visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite design and help crown this year’s Floral Art Champion.

The live challenge will run from 9.30am to 11.30am inside Hylands House on Friday 15th May 2026. Voting at the show will close at 4pm on Sunday 17th May 2026, when the winner will be announced.

To celebrate the National Flower Show being a week away today, we’re giving YOU the chance to win a £50 cash prize to spend at the show!

How to enter:
Everyone who books tickets online before midnight on Monday 11th May will automatically be entered into the prize draw. It’s as simple as that!

If you’ve already booked tickets, don’t worry – you’re in the draw too!

We’re delighted to introduce a NEW Gardening Talks area to this year’s National Flower Show.

Come and watch celebrity gardeners Adam Frost (Friday), Carol Klein (Saturday) and Joe Swift (Sunday) in the afternoon on each show day. Plus enjoy accompanying live music throughout the day from local songstress Hollie-Blue.

As part of this year’s National Flower Show, we’re inviting students from Writtle College to design nine floral exhibits inside Hylands House for a ‘Cowboy Wedding’ – and the best part is YOU will have the chance to vote for your favourite.

As part of the National Flower Show’s new Wild West Floral Experience, the students will be creating a pedestal design, a wedding bouquet and a decorated hat all in the cowboy/cowgirl theme.

Once the National Flower Show has opened on Friday 15th May, YOU will get the chance to vote for your favourite design on our Facebook page. Voting will close at 3pm on Sunday 17th May when the winner will be officially announced at the show.

Saddle up and step into a bloom-filled frontier as this year’s National Flower Show rides boldly into the “Wild West”!

Our Creative Director, Mig Kimpton, is back and leads a creative team to decorate the House with a Wild West theme.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Hylands House with a group of talented floral designers to bring the Wild West to life florally. It will not all be about tumble weed, cactus and straw. All our room settings will as ever be filled with lots of flowers and plants!”

Each room will have a theme, from Gold Rush to a Cowboy Wedding to celebrating cowboys from the silver screen to a Native American Indian camp. Be prepared to be wowed and stunned in a world of beautiful flowers in the wonderful setting of Hylands House – and look out for the Cowboys!!!

Get exclusive EARLY ACCESS to this year’s Floral Experience inside Hylands House from 9.30am with our “Premium Plus” tickets. The House won’t be open to the public until 10am, so you’ll have exclusive access to explore Hylands House and take photos of the displays at your leisure.

Calling all budding flower arrangers and floral enthusiasts – would you like to be a part of the National Flower Show 2026?

Applications are now open for The National Flower Show 2026 Floral Art Competition.

The competition is open to all levels, there’s a cash prize for first, second and third places and the best part is, it’s FREE to take part!

Plus each entrant will receive two complimentary passes to attend each day of the National Flower Show (that’s free entry on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026).

This year’s exciting theme is ‘Annie Get Your Flowers’ with classes including: Let’s Go West Again, There’s No Business Like Show Business, Anything You Can Do, They Say it’s Wonderful, I’ve Got The Sun in the Morning and more…
